Brutal Game of Thrones

Game of Thrones. Sorry, but I just don't get it. Oh, I understand getting enthused about TV shows, their storylines and characters.  But to make it a national obsession?  And with brutality all over the world, with ongoing murders of our children in schools, I find it unconscionable that we lionize the vicious and graphic violence of this show.

There is virtually no media site I visit that doesn't have a weekly or even daily story on this show.  I find it odd that the media would want to give endless free publicity to this show.  Then again, since there is such a large audience for each episode, the online newspapers and magazines are just trying to reel in all those eyeballs I guess. If Sesame Street had such a large and rabid following as Game of Thrones, I suppose we'd be subjected to daily updates on Big Bird and Cookie Monster.

Oh well, I don't have to watch or read about it, eh?!
