Wind Power in Michigan

| No Comments | No TrackBacks
I photographed at this elementary shool in Pigeon, Michigan shadowed by a number of windmills. Michigan's Thumb currently has 758 operating turbines, 68% of the total operating in the state. Huron County has the largest installed wind energy base in the Great Lakes region.

Across the border in Ontario, Canada are a whopping 2681 wind turbines, making the province the leader in Canada.

Wind power is among the fastest-growing electricity sources in the US. The American Wind Energy Association (AWEA) reports capacity has doubled since 2010, and growth can be expected to continue in the near future.
